FOCUS ON FERALS, INC.

Our FIV/FeLV and special Needs Cats

These guys have a special place in our hearts.  They had it rough living on the streets, fighting to defend themselves, their territories and their food, or competing for a mate.  Sometimes, as a result of the fighting, these poor kitties end up with FIV and even worse, FeLV.  It's great to see these guys (and girls) getting along now.  Of course, at some point they were fighting, contracting FIV, due, in part, to the fact they were not neutered, which makes them more aggressive. After being neutered, it has been our experience that MOST, not all, of them are sweethearts to everyone, cats, dogs, and humans alike. FIV cats need to be placed in the most stress free households as possible to minimize further negative effects to their immune systems. FIV+ cats can be placed in homes that have uninfected cats as long as they do not fight with each other.

THESE CATS ARE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION.  PLEASE VISIT OUR "CATS AND KITTENS FOR ADOPTION" PAGE TO SEE MORE CATS AND KITTENS LOOKING FOR FOREVER HOMES.

"Buster Brown and Django"

These two handsome boys are two of our FIV guys.  Buster Brown is the orange tabby and white. They are also two of the sweetest cats we have ever had! They made friends very quickly and they were almost always together. Sadly we had to let Django cross the rainbow bridge due to liver failure. Buster Brown is missing him greatly and so do we!

"Cedrick"

Cedrick is a handsome tuxedo boy with medium length hair with an approximate birthday of 3/10/2017.  He gets along great with other cats.  He is neutered, vaccinated, FeLV negative and FIV positive. Please call (860) 884-1439 for more information.

"Geoffrey"

Buster is a handsome brown tabby we rescued from an abandoned property behind our house.  It took him about a year before he decided to let us pet him.  He is a gentle soul, a little shy but loves to be petted.  He is FIV positive.

"Rusty"

Rusty is a handsome buff colored boy, rescued as a sick stray from a trailer park in Mystic, CT.  He gets along great with other cats and is ok with dogs.  He is neutered, vaccinated, FeLV negative and FIV positive.

"Uno"

We took in Uno from Waterford-East Lyme Animal Control.  He was on quarantine due to an unknown bite would.  He is a little quirky, the vet thinks he has some kind of neurological issues.

"Adam"

Adam is a gorgeous tuxedo male waiting for his forever home.  His approximate birthday is 6/1/2018.  He is completely vetted and he is FIV positive.  If you would like more information, please give us a call at (860) 884-1439 or email us at [email protected]

"Ronnie Milsap"

Ronnie is a sweet tuxedo male waiting for his forever home.  His approximate birthday is 6/8/2020.  He is completely vetted.  He has occasional seizures, but not enough to warrant putting him on a strong medication such as Phenobarbital.  We are trying CBD chews for him currently. If you would like more information, please email us at [email protected] or call (860) 884-1439.
